CITIZENS COMPASS– BARELY a week after a female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem was allegedly killed by a trigger happy policeman in Ajah area of Lagos State, the state Police Command has transferred all policemen in Ajah Police Station to give room for investigation.
Spokesperson of the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in his tweets on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Hundeyin who was reacting to a video posted by a media house on shanties built around the Police station said they have been demolished.
“I can confirm that this publication has been overtaken by events. The new DPO Ajah, CSP Adolf Ogwu, had earlier in the week dismantled all the shanties around the police station.
“In addition, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, fdc has already effected the transfer out of ALL personnel of the division, with replacement from other divisions. This would fully materialize in a couple of days.
“While appreciating @MobilePunch for the exposé, we encourage more Lagos residents to, as usual, say something whenever they see something, as this would translate to a better policing experience for all. Remember, security is everyone’s business.
It will be recalled that two Lagosians including a pregnant lawyer Omobolanle Raheem were killed by Policemen from Ajiwe Police station , an incident that generated outright condemnation within and outside Nigeria.
