Lagos arrests ex-convicts, others over illegal sales of petrol
CITIZENS COMPASS–Lagos State Government has arrested 21 miscreants including three ex-convicts and internet stalker over illegal sales of petrol by the roadside.
They were arrested over illegal sales of petrol during a coordinated surveillance carried out on weekend.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the illegal sales of petrol on his X Handle formerly known as Twitter.
He said the miscreants were arrested for illegal sales of petrol around Awolowo way, Alfred Rewane road in Ikoyi and the Lekki-Ajah express way.
He said, “3 ex-convicts, 1 internet stalker, plus 17 other Suspected miscreants and persons dealing in the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads were arrested during the operation.
“Coordinated surveillance was today carried out to checkmate the menace of miscreants and nuisance caused by destitutes across Ikoyi, VI and Lekki-Ajah corridor.
“Awolowo way, Alfred Rewane road in Ikoyi and the Lekki-Ajah express way, were monitored all day.
“3 ex-convicts, 1 internet stalker, plus 17 other Suspected miscreants and persons dealing in the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads were arrested during the operation.
“Substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Jerry Cans/gallons of fuel were recovered.”
