Kidnappers place N40m ransom on wife of ex-Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu
CITIZENS COMPASS– The Kidnappers of the wife of the former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, have reportedly placed a ransom of N40million on her.
The paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Dr. Michael Gbadebo, disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking at the 49th President’s party of the Abeokuta Club.
The Alake of Egbaland who doubles as the grand patron of the Club, described the incident as a breach of security saying that the abductors had contacted the police over the ransom.
He said, “The kidnapping happened in Egbaland. The kidnappers have called the police, requesting for N40 million. If we join forces with the police, Amotekun, and other security agencies, we can tackle this insecurity,” said the monarch.
Oba Gbadebo also commended Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for his commitment to enhancing security in the state.
He highlighted the recent graduation of 700 Amotekun recruits in Sagamu and the governor’s pledge to approve an additional 1,000 recruits to strengthen the security outfit’s capacity against criminal activities.
Citizens Compass reported on Friday, that suspected gunmen kidnapped Mrs Odumosu, in the Arepo, Ifo Local Government area of Ogun State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 9p.m on Thursday.
Citizens Compass reported that Odumosu is a retired Assistant-Inspector General of Police and the Liaison Officer of the defunct Lagos Parks Management Committee headed by Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as Mc Oluomo.
It was gathered that the kidnappers wearing masks waylaid Mrs Odumosu’s vehicle while she was approaching her residence, dragged her out and whisked her to an unknown destination.
Spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
She said the victim was about to enter her home when hoodlums accosted her Lexus Jeep
According to her, Mrs Odumosu was dragged out of the Jeep, and taken through a swampy area to an unknown location.
“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in the area has led a team of officers to the scene, where they are currently searching the swampy bush area.
“The Baale of Warewa and Maaba have been contacted to also deploy local security forces to the riverine area,” she said.
