Kidnappers forcefully gain entry into Ikorodu homes, kidnap landlord, neighbour  

Police, taskforce rescue victims 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– Some suspected kidnappers have kidnapped a landlord and his neighbour after forcefully gained entry into their homes in the Ijede, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The joint efforts of the Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Taskforce in the area has rescued the victims unhurt.

The kidnappers were said to have gunned down the security dog of the landlord before kidnapping him.

The kidnappers also forcefully gained entry into a neighboring building and kidnapped with a female victim but the collaborative efforts of the Police and local Joint Taskforce, both victims were rescued unhurt after three days in captivity.

The incident occurred on Thursday, Match 26, 2025 at about 2100HRS.

In his Situation Report, spokesperson, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, described the incident as conspiracy saying, “On 26/03/2025 at about 2100HRS, information was received that some kidnappers invaded Ijede community and kidnapped two persons. Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives were mobilized to the scene where it was observed that the kidnappers forcefully gained entrance into the house of one Dare ‘m’ aged 40yrs, fired and killed the security dog and kidnapped the said Dare. “The kidnappers equally forced their way into the nearby house and kidnapped the landlord&s daughter, one Taiwo F, aged 25yrs.

“Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and possible arrest of the suspects. The area is being closely monitored.

“Sequel to the above report, rescue of kidnapped victims, be informed that with the rigorous and collaborative efforts of both the police, the joint Taskforce and other stakeholders, the kidnapped victims were on the 29/3/2025 at about 2356hrs rescued unhurt and handed over to their family members however the area is relatively calm and being closely monitored. Efforts are on to arrest the wanted suspects.
