Justice for Mohbad protests springs up in Ikorodu 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS –Some human rights activists, friends and fans of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad will on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, stage a peaceful rally against what they described as injustice meted on him.

The rally is slated for Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.

It is being organised by human rights activists,and concerned authorities.

Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman and members of the human rights organization, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice(CHRSJ) have been invited to join the protest.  

It would be recalled the activist and his human rights body had blamed the men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Annex, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Ikoyi-Close, Lagos State over the untimely death of the 27-year old Afrobeats Musician.

The activists alleges the Force Headquarters of complicity in the death of Mohbad which has brought great stigma to the country among the democratic nations of the world,castigating the Police of lackadaisical attitude with dereliction of duty for failing to act on time on Mohbad’s Petition Letter dated 27th of June, 2023, until the messengers of death claimed Mohbad’s life untimely.

In a statement made available to Citizens Compass on Monday, June 24, 2025, the group further stressed that if the Police earlier acted accordingly, they would have saved the precious life of Mohbad, describing the protest as welcome and good development.

They claimed the Alagbon FCID has made a mess of the situation after the death of Mohbad.

It also restated that the group would ensure justice for Mohbad’s family, by ensuring that the authorities concerned bring the culprits of the dastardly act to justice, no matter whose ox is gored.

The statement issued by the CHRSJ’s Media Office, Comrade Sulaiman alleged that the way and manner in which the Police authority handled the investigation of the death and its autopsy shown the high level of complicity on the part of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF). 

While receiving the invitation letter extended to him and the members of his human rights organization (CHRSJ) by the organisers of the rally, Sulaiman, who is the Executive Chairman of the Centre, noted that he was happy for the recognition given to him, his human rights body  and members,stating that it was the duty of every lover of justice to ensure justice for MOHBAD,even, in death because life of fellow human being must be precious to us all.

He further stated that the human rights body was properly and absolutely discovered the series of discrepancies with porncarturious competitious laconic lacunar from the side of the Police on the investigation on MOHBAD’s death because of high class level of the people involved.

According to the invit, the family of the late singer sent it to the human rights activist and his team in order to join hands with them to fight the cause of justice for the late singer.
