CITIZENS COMPASS —With joy in every quater, many Nigerians have welcomed the Year 2024 at exactly 12q.m on Monday, with great expectations.
Many welcomed the Year in various worship centers, relaxation centres, hotels and bars while others stayed indoor to welcome the new year.
Some youths were seen welcoming the Year stunning fire works and other items.
Many lamented that the oitgone year was filled with various challenges hoping that the new year will be better.
In Lagos, a salon operator, Madam Ifedayo Pariola said she lost three relatives in 2023 praying to Almighty God to restore her losses.
Mr Gideon Okorie said he lost his job due to increase in fares as how could not regularly go to work.
A transporter, Alhaji Afeez Goriola said many homes were broken in Year 2023 as they could not meet up with daily expenses in the family.
Few hours into the new year, some religious centers visited by our correspondents were filled to the brim as the worshippers were seen praying fervently to welcome the new year.
Some Nigerians prayed the government to introduce programmes that will ameliorate their sufferings.
On social media, some Nigerians expressed tjeir expectations to tje government.
