CITIZENS COMPASS —Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji popularly known as Mohbad and his former wife, Abosede Olumiyi, have found themselves in fresh controversies over the paternity of the late singer.
In an audio clip played on Yeye Kudi TV on Tuesday, Abosede alleged that Joseph is not the biological father of Mohbad.
Recall that the late singer died on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in Ajah area of Lagos State and was buried in Ikorodu area.
His death sparked protests among many Nigeria youths and fans some of whom alleged suspicion in the death.
Following the protesters, the Nigeria Police swung into action and exhumed his body for autopsy.
In the course of investigation, the Police arrested the axillary nurse who administered injections on Mohbad before his death.
The Police also arrested the Chief Executive Officer of Marlian Records, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, music promoter, Samson Balogun popularly known as Sam Larry and some other suspects who were later released except the nurse.
The autopsy report is yet to be released by the Police.
While fielding questions from journalists during the parade of suspects in the month of January 2024, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fayoade Adegoke, explained why the autopsy report was delayed, “Regarding the Mohbad case, the toxicology result is not ready and it is what is delaying the autopsy result. We have to get the report from the US.
“You can recall that during the End SARS, the laboratory built by the Lagos State Government was destroyed. That is why we had to go to the US to conduct toxicology,” he stated.”
The singer’s death has sparked accusations and counter-accusations in the Aloba Family with the latest from Abosede alleging that Joseph is not the biological father of her late son.
She said: “You’re disturbing Nigerians, dribbling them left and right. Have you forgotten you have your children? What you’re making my son face, you shall face it too.
“You thief! I give you three days to do DNA; you’ll know that Baba Mohbad is not the biological father of Mohbad”.
“You know I’m married to someone else. He (Joseph Aloba) is not the father of those kids; he’s just taking money on their behalf, and you say you’re looking for justice for Mohbad.
“You’re pushing him and did not allow him to do the right thing for the children. I know all of you are pushing him. By God’s grace, if it’s my two breasts he drank, you all will be mocked. You kept his body where he was. It’ll be your turn soon; that’s how it will be for all of you. I know he is not his father because if he’s, he will not be doing all these,” she said.
