Important notice to Lagos landlords
CITIZENS COMPASS – THE Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), is set to clamp down on houses who are yet to procure refuse bins and stand them in front of their houses.
This was contained in a public awareness by LASEMA and posted on its social media platforms.

It reads, ” The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), in fulfillment of its ministerial mandate on solid waste management in Lagos State, and in accordance with Section 83 of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, No. 10 vol. 50 2017, hereby issues the following statement:
” That all tenements in Lagos State are expected to own appropriate waste bins, positioned in front of their properties.
” That LAWMA will commence serving abatement notices on tenements without appropriate waste bins as notification and caution before implementation of the Law from 1st April, 2023.
” That the prosecution of defaulting tenements will begin from 1st June, 2023.
” That the recommended LAWMA approved SMART Bins, which are durable and have a minimum service life of 10 years, can be procured by tenements online.
