Igbogbo-Baiyeku kicks off Year 2025 Proposed Budget Estimates Retreat
CITIZENS COMPASS – In what could be described as a Budget of accomplishment, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, yesterday, kicked off the Year 2025 budget retreat with theme, “Budget of Accomplishment”.
Venue was Ai Royal Event Center, Igbogbo.
The retreat which played host to the creme de la creme in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and other stakeholders was aimed at targeting notable accomplishments before the expiration of the current regime of the incumbent Council Chairman, Olusesan Mayokun Daini.
Declaring the three-day event open, the council chairman popularly known as Builder Sesan Daini, stressed the need for accomplishing notable tasks for the Council to contribute his quota to the social-ecomomic aspect of the Council.
Daini who assumed office over seven years ago noted that the Budget would be memorable in the annals of IBLCDA adding that it would be a guide to the incoming administration.
According to him, the revenue reform strides introduced by the Council has brought tremendous increase and repositioned its finance.
He said the revenue drive of the Council has grown tremendously.
Daini said the retreat would reposition the Council and make it a model among other local government and council developments in the State.
“Without doubts, IBLCDA would remain a force to be reckoned with in the State,”
Also speaking, IBLCDA Council Manager, Mr. Badmus Lateef, highlighted the importance of collective responsibilities to the Council urging everyone to contribute his/her quota.
In her contribution, Mrs. Dawodu B.A, a Head of Department (HOD) in the Council called for collaboration among the stakeholders saying, “The purpose of this gathering is to deliberate on the fiscal year proposed budget and we are going to do our calculation, our addition and subtraction and then we talk across all the departments, the activities that we want to embark on at the end of 2025.”
She expressed gratitude towards the council chairman for his efforts in appraising the previous year’s budget.
“It has been very good. And I would say thank you to him. And I pray that God Almighty will strengthen you to do more.”
