Ifeanyi Anikpe emerges Festac Weekly Man of the Year
CITIZENS COMPASS– THE Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Finjis Investment Company Ltd. Chief Ifeanyi Anikpe, has bagged the award, Festac Weekly Man of the Year 2022, in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government area of Lagos State.
The publisher of Festac Weekly, a community medium, Mr Abayomi Adejumo said the announcement was made on January 5, 2023 in a statement.
According to him, the award is bestowed on people who have impacted lives by mentoring and empowering people through human capital, security of lives and property, social and infrastructural development across the local government.
He said the Akajiugo Ogidi according to his traditional title, was democratically nominated by Festac residents.
“The process of arriving at the decision to honour Chief Anikpe with this exalted community recogntion was democratic as residents were requested to register nominations through designated channels. 40 people were nominated and four among them were shortlisted.
“In a remark by one of the residents, Chief Anikpe was described thus, “He is public spirited that have affected so many peoples lives for over 25 years particularly in Amuwo Odofin and Festac Town respectively. He is one of the leading lights of the residents association in 6th avenue, empowering people, religious organizations and youths”

Recipients of other awards were the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Amuwo-Odofin constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Folorunso Ola,
who was nominated with the Festac Weekly Street Credibility/Leadership Award, while Comrade Rasheed Olateju was recognised as the Mass mobilizer.
Abayomi said the official presentation of award certificates and plaques will take place as proposed by the publishers of Festac Weekly.
The Publisher urged Festac people to get involved in identifying, rewarding and celebrating people who selflessly contribute to the development of the local government.
