CITIZENS COMPASS–The husband of Favour Igiebor, the woman who was reportedly captured in a viral video tearing the international passport of her husband says the family was acting a skit.
He says that none of them knew it would go viral and gain traction.
Recall that a video went viral on Sunday capturing the family alongside other travellers at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, where the video was recorded.
The husband released another video on Wednesday saying that his passport was not torn by Favour as earlier circulated.
The new video was shared on the family’s TikTok page which clarifies that the international passport is intact.
The new video captures the man sitting with his children as he begs Nigerians for forgiveness for playing on their emotions.
He says the skit was a true life experience of someone.
He says, “I want to send a message of appeal to the public of Nigeria and the whole world also that what my wife tore is not passport,” .
“We’re doing a skit. It’s a skit. This is somebody’s story of what happened that we’re passing to the world.
“I didn’t even know that it would go (viral),” he stated.
“We are sorry, we cannot defile the law of Nigeria,” he said. “We are full bonafide Nigerians, we cannot go against the law by destroying the passport of Nigeria, it is not possible.”
Meanwhile, a video has captured the woman being arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service for interrogation.
Citizens Compass reported that the mother of three was captured in a viral video reportedly tearing the passport.
Our Correspondent also reported that the couple released different videos stating long-time issues between them.
