CITIZENS COMPASS – Kidnappers of Folasade Odumosu, wife of the former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has narrated how she was treated while in captivity.
Hakeem Odumosu is a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
The kidnappers said Folasade was held captive for over a week in a bush near her house in Arepo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State.
He disclosed this in his confessional statement with the Police.
The suspects were 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael.
According to them, Mrs Folasade Odumosu was hidden in a dense area surrounded by palm trees, just behind her house, where they believed no one would discover her.
“We hid her behind her house, where there are many palm trees. If someone hides there, you can’t see them,” one of the suspects confessed.
The gang initially demanded a ransom of ₦40 million but later settled for ₦20 million, which was paid by the victim’s family. The suspects disclosed that each gang member received ₦4.25 million after the ransom was shared.
Armed with three locally-made guns, the gang reportedly executed the abduction on Mrs Odumosu’s house, dragging her from her Lexus SUV and taking her through a swampy area to their hideout.
“One man gave us the job, but I don’t know his name,” said one of the suspects.
The suspects were arrested on their way inward Lagos State.
