How EFCC arrested, detained Yahaya Bello over N200 billion fraud
CITIZENS COMPASS – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, arrested and detained former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, over an alleged N200 billion fraud.
Facts emerged that the former Governor was arrested at exactly 12.54 p.m.
An impeccable source within the Commission informed that Yahaya Bello was at the car park of the Commision again and the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of EFCC promptly arrested him and “took him into custody” at exactly 12.54 pm.
It was not clear if Yahaya Bello who had earlier been declared wanted by the EFCC and who had shunned several court sittings would be released on administrative bail before his eventual arraignment.
The Spokesman of the Commission, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest and detention of the former governor.
