House of Reps candidate, Jimi Benson declared winner in Ikorodu

CITIZENS COMPASS- THE lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Hon. Babajimi Benson, has been elected for third term during the 2023 elections.
He is representing the constituency under the umbrella of All Progressives Congress (APC).
He is Chairman, House Committee on Defence in the House of Representatives.
Citizens Compass reports that five political parties including the APC contested for the house of representatives seat in the constituency.
The parties are African Democratic Congress (ADC), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP).
Prof. Victor Ariole, the Returning Officer, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Sunday, declared Benson as winner at the collation centre in Ikorodu.
Ariole said out of the 89,761 accredited voters, APC polled 60,890, PDP – 15,966, while the ADC polled 443.
He said: the election was contested and Benson of APC polling the highest number of votes, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared winner and returned elected.”
Ariole is of the Department of European Language and Integration studies, Faculty of Art, UNILAG.
