Hisbah arrests commissioner over romance with married woman
CITIZENS COMPASS – The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner of Special Duties for allegedly engaging in an illicit affair with a married woman in the State.
The Director-General of the State Hisbah Board, Alhaji Saidu Sufi, confirmed the arrest over the weekend.
According to him, the Commissioner was arrested at a hideout along Lamido Crescent Road, Nassarawa GRA.
In an exclusive interview with newsmen, the Director General said Sankara was detained at the Kurmawa Correctional Centre in Kano.
He said, “Yes, I can confirm that Sankara was arrested at a hidden location along Lamido Crescent Road. He is now at Kurmawa prison. It is an unfortunate incident,” Sufi stated.
It was learnt that Kano State Hisbah operatives apprehended
the commissioner in an incomplete building in Kano on Thursday night, under suspicious circumstances.
Earlier, the woman’s husband had accused Sankara of engaging in an affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of his two children.
Reports said that Bulama filed complaints with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife.
At press time, investigations were ongoing.
