CITIZENS COMPASS –A 24-year-old lady has reportedly thrown her baby inside a domestic well in Delta State.
The lady who lives in the Araya community in Isoko South area of the State was said to have thrown her one year and four months old baby inside the well blaming her action on hardship.
She perpetrated her action on April 24, 2024.
Spokesman, Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident on his X Handle formerly known as Twitter.
“The suspect is a 24-year-old lady who lives in Araya community in Isoko South. She threw her one year and four months baby inside a well on 24th April 2024. “Children who went 5tp play around the well after three days found the baby floating after drowning. According to her, she committed the dastardly act because she could no longer take care of the baby. The suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.
“Ps…the name of the offense is called infanticide.”
