CITIZENS COMPASS LABOUR Party candidate for Onuimo constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Christopher Elehu, popularlly known as Elehu has been killed by suspected gunmen on Friday.
Reports said he was killed in the morning just as his house was razed by the assailants.
The gunmen shot for about two hours before gaining entry into the house and also destroyed valuable properties in the area.
Houses of some politicians in the area were also targeted, but they were unavailable.
A witness, who preferred not to be identified said: “They have killed Christopher Elehu, popularly known as Wasco. Until his death, he was the Labour Party candidate in Onuimo Local Government Area.

They invaded his house when everybody had gone to sleep and shot for over two hours.
“They killed the man and burnt his house. They also destroyed his property. His corpse was laying on the floor with matchet cuts when villagers gathered in the morning.”
About a month ago, the Women Leader of the Labour Party in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Victoria Chintex, was gruesomely murdered by yet-to-be-apprehended gunmen, who invaded her residence.
