CITIZENS VOMPASS– THE 2022 Boxing Day went sour in Ajah area of Lagos State, on Monday, following the death of two fun seekers who got drowned while rescuing a co-fin seeker from drowning.
The incident occurred at Baracuda Beach, Abraham Adesanya, Ajah.
Conforming the incident, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said, “On arrival at the scene of the incident it was observed that two persons at the beach drowned inside the ocean at the aforementioned location.
“Further investigation gathered revealed that two adult male were trying to rescue an adult male from drowning before the high tide of the ocean drowned the two adult male.
“In addition, the life guard at the beach reported that the victims swam beyond the red line which wasn’t safe for them to engage on the rescue.
However, the agency’s LRT and Paramedics are on ground.
Search and rescue operation ongoing.”
