The 72 years old former governor of Abia State, died after a brief illness in an undisclosed hospital in Nigeria.

He was a renowned Nigerian politician, author, and engineer until his passing in April 2024. He made headlines during the 2023 general election when he contested for the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC), ultimately losing to President Bola Tinubu.
