Fire reportedly ravages Itupate in Ikorodu

CITIZENS COMPASS — A night fire outbreak has reportely ravaged some parts of Itupate in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State on Thursday, June 13, 2024, destroying property whose monetary value could not be ascertained.
A viral video captured the incident on Thursday night.
In the video, the fire outbreak was alarming as residents were captured shouting for help.
The background noise of residents claimed they have put across calls to fire fighters who were yet to arrive at the scene of the incident.
The residents were captured offering self help at the scene as the fire spread rapidly consuming the affected area.
Citizens Compass learnt that succour later came the way of the affected victims as the fire was completely extinguished.
The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
The Director, Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, could not be reached at press time.
Similarly, the Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Wasiu Adesina could not be reached.
