Fire partly guts Dangote Refinery 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS–Fire on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, partly gutted Dangote Petroleum Refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred in the morning but was promptly attended to by emergency responders who curtailed it from degenerating.

In a statement personally signed by the Group Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Anthony Chiejina, said the incident occurred at the effluent treatment plant (ETP). 

“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June,” Chiejina said.

“There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.”

Similarly in a statement titled, “Dangote Refinery contains minor fire at its effluent treatment plant,” he said, 

“We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.
