Fire guts bullion van on Third Mainland Bridge

CITIZENS COMPASS- A bullion van has reportedly went up in flames while on motion on Third Mainland Bridge.
The incident occured at UNILAG Water Front at about Noon.
This was barely 24 hours after seven passengers were burnt to death in Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos, another bus has reportedly went up in flames on the Third Mainland Bridge.
Eye witnesses’ account said the bullion van was on motion inward Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island when fire suddenly erupted it.
It was learnt that the driver was on his way from a mechanic workshop where he had gone to repair the van.
An eye witness, Abidemi Adebajo told Citizens Compass that lack of fire extinguishers was said to have hampered rescue operations until the vehicle was burnt beyond recognition.
The driver was said to have escaped unhurt.
