CITIZENS COMPASS– Mr Ozioma Ubabukoh, Principal Consultant of Plexus, has called for a safe space where women could pause, reflect and realign with their purpose.

Ubabukoh made the call in Lagos during the firm’s “HERbernation” event in celebration of International Women’s Day.

He said the event themed, ‘Rise, Renew, Reignite’ is a call to action for women to reclaim their power, restore their energy and walk back into the world ready to conquer it.

According to Ubabukoh, HERbernation is not just an event; but a movement that provides women with the space to reflect, heal and emerge stronger.

“It reminds us that no matter where we are on our journeys, there is always room to rise beyond our limitations, renew our strength, and reignite the passion that drives us,” he said.

Ubabukoh said the world is fast-paced with many women juggling multiple roles, meeting endless expectations, and sometimes forgetting to take a moment for themselves.

Similarly, Ogechi Eleojo, Dean, Purple Academy at Wema Bank, during a panel session said self-doubt has limited a lot of women from progressing and living the life they truly deserve.

“Imposter syndrome tends to make women not express themselves,” she said.

Eleojo advised women against self-doubt in their careers, urging them to rise above limiting beliefs and self-doubt to thrive.

Commenting, Elizabeth Kings-Wali, a finance expert urged women to prioritise self-care, emphasising that motherhood shouldn’t deter them from thriving in other aspects of life.

Kings-Wali advised women to be cheerful, channel their energy positively and focus on their careers for growth.

Similarly, Dr Ruth Ebe-Emordi, advised women to understand their bodies, stressing that it was crucial for maintaining optimal health and well-being.

“A lot of women don’t know that monthly menstruation is not supposed to be painful. Unfortunately, it is one of the things that are not normal that has been normalised.” Ebe-Emordi said.

Also, Efe Obiomah, Founder, Brand Spark, called for increased investment in women’s empowerment to enhance socio-economic growth.
