#EndBadGovernance: Minors collapse in court
– The Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, witnessed the unusual when some minors allegedly involved in the #EndBadGovernance protests collapsed while waiting to be arraigned.
At the commencement of proceedings, the children who looked frail and malnourished, were asked to come forward to take their plea.
While some huddled in the dock, others stood outside the dock due to lack of space.
However, four of them were hurriedly rushed out of the courtroom after they collapsed and wriggled in pain.
Some videos of the scene were seen circulating in social media where the minors wept profusely.
Some were seen standing, some sat on bare floor and the remaining laid on the floor gasping for breath.
The children looked malnourished and unkempt.
Some adults in the courtroom were seen calling for help and condemning the government’s action for arraigning the children.
The videos have generated a debate among Nigerians.
In a chat with Citizens Compass, some well meaning Nigerians have called for the removal of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Atiku, has condemned the Federal Government of Nigeria for arraigning the minors.
