DSS grills APC lawmaker, LG chair over cult killings in Sagamu
CITIZENS COMPASS — Following the recent killings by rival cult groups in Sagamu, Ogun State, the Department of State Service (DSS), on Tuesday, reportedly invited the Chairman of the Sagamu Local Government Area, Afolabi Odulate and the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker representing Sagamu Constituency II in the state House of Assembly, Adeniran Ademola.
The invitation was said to be in furtherance of the efforts by the DSS to unveil the people behind the cult clashes.
It would be recalled that six suspects and the Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker representing Sagamu State Constituency I, Damilare Mohammed, were rounded up on Wednesday in a sting operation by the DSS.
The PDP lawmaker was nabbed while allegedly providing shelter for the fleeing cultists at his official residence in Abeokuta.
Sources disclosed that more people may still be invited for interrogation in due course.
The killings instilled fear among Sagamu residents many of whom have called on the State government to provide adequate security in Sagamu.
