CITIZENS COMPASS– A commercial bus driver has lost his life while several passengers were injured on Thursday, in Lagos when the commercial bus was involved in an accident with a 40ft container and other vehicles.
The incident occurred ay about 1.09pm, along Apapa- Oshodi by PM Filling Station, Cele inward Mile 2.
Vehicles involved were a commercial bus with number plate AKD 469 XZ whose driver died instantly.
Other vehicles involved in the accident were a Toyota Highlander with number plate AGL 366 FP & Toyota 4Runner with number plate AAA 353 FH.
However, the victims were rescued to the hospital while the deceased were handed over to his relatives who were also at the scene.
The rescue operation was performed by the Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other sister agencies.
Spokesperson of the agency, Adebayo Taofik who confirmed the incident to Citizens Compass said, “The accident which occurred around 1:09pm had the driver of a commercial bus (AKD 469 XZ) died instantly with 2 other private cars involved in the accident (Toyota Highlander AGL 366 FP & Toyota 4Runner AAA 353 FH)
“The body of the commercial bus driver was immediately handed over to his wife and family members who came to the accident scene.
“Other passengers rescued by LASTMA Officials were handed over to Medical personnel (Emergency Responder) who came to the accident scene.”
The cause of the incident could not be ascertained.
