Death toll hits four, 15 survive Lagos building collapse 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– Two bodies were recovered on Thursday, during search and rescue operations of the collapsed building Oriwu Estate along Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos State,

Citizens Compass reported that the three-storey building collapsed yesterday.

So far, four bodies have been recovered while one more person was rescued bringing the number of survivors to 15.

Recall that 14 persons were rescued yesterday.

Spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday, confirmed the figure to Citizens Compass.

“Two more dead bodies were brought out of the rubble this morning.”

Similarly, Ibrahim Farinloye, The Coordinator, Lagos State Territorial District, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed this.

He said, “Additional 2 dead bodies retrieved from rubbles and 1 adult male was rescued as at this morning making 4 dead recovered and 15 rescued at the 3 Storey collapsed building incident at Oriwu Estate, Elf Busstop, Inward Ajah, Lekki/Epe expressway Lagos State.

Operations ongoing.”
