Day of tributes for Adeboye’s son
Family, friends, church members and we’ll wishers have started paying tributes to Pastor Dare Adeboye, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye following his burial plans which kicked off at the City of David Parish, Eket Akwa Ibom state on Sunday.
Church members and mourners turned out en masse to pay their last respects to the deceased.
On the roll call were the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, popularlly known as Winners Chapel, Eket, Pastor Afolabi; General Overseer of Glory World Church Eket, Pastor Samuel Effiong; the zonal pastor of RCCG Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Pastor Timothy Mulero among others.
Youths of the parishes in Province 5 described the deceased as ‘a man of excellence”.
The youths, in their tributes, said: ”we your children in Youth Province 5 headquarters Eket Akwa Ibom State are missing you dearly. God enabled you to pioneer the work of the youth province from nothing to a position that is being admired by all.
”Your love for hard work and excellence made every one of us to sit up and work with you. You taught us that only failures make excuses. With that we your children got immunized against failure.”
Resident Pastor of City of David, Pastor Vincent Okolosi, said the death of Adeboye has left a big vacuum not just in the parish but the entire RCCG and Christendom.
According to him: ”He was a strong pillar to the church and the youths in particular. He lived a life of sacrifice and generosity. He used his personal resources for the work of God.
”He gave his very best to the youths of the church and led many to God. His knack for excellence impacted on the wonderful aesthetics and architectural finesse of this church building. We are here to honour a man after God’s heart.”
The music director of City of David Parish, Mr. Iheonye Emmanuel, said he worked closely with late Pastor Adeboye who impacted positively on him and youths in the church and beyond.
”It is with mixed feelings that I received the news of the departure of Pastor Dare Adeboye but I take consolation that he is resting with God.
”I worked closely with him and I benefited from his spirit of excellence. He was generous and completely sold out to the service of God.
”He embraced everyone and was accessible despite his tight schedule. I can’t count the number of youths he paid school fees for or the number of people he gave capital to start their businesses,” Emmanuel said.
The tributes continue on Monday at RCCG Camp, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
