Day 10: Protests witness low turnout

…Leader arrested

CITIZENS COMPASS—Contrary to the announcement that the organisers of the #EndBadGovernance would embark on a one million-man march across the 36 States of the federation and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on Saturday, the match witnessed low turnout nationwide as the Nigeria Police Force deployed its men across the country.

The protesters were conspicuously absent at the proposed venues as security operatives mounted the venues.
The March was to round off the #EndBadGovernance protest which clocked Day 10 on Saturday.
Citizens Compass reported that divisions crept into the various groups organising the protests as the leader of the Education Rights Campaign, Hassan Taiwo Soweto suddenly announced the suspension of the protests in Lagos.

On Saturday, the one-million-march was unsuccessful as various converging points were scanty compared with the previous protests although protests were held in the Lokogoma and Apo areas of the FCT with low turnout of protesters.

In Ondo State, police arrested the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Kunle Ajayi popularly known as Wiseman alongside other youths, for protesting against bad governance which took place at the popular NEPA Roundabout in Akure the State capital.

Other arrested protesters were Patrick Owolabi, Oluwatobi Akinkuotu, Kolawole Kumuyi, and Olalekan Oladehinde among others.

The protesters have been clamouring for the release of those arrested.
In Lagos, the venue of the protest in the Alausa Secretariat was scanty.
However, the Take It Back (TIB) Movement vowed to return to the streets with a 10-million-person march if President Bola Tinubu fails to address its demands.
