Court summons Yahaya Bello over alleged breach of trust

 

CITIZENS COMPASS–The Federal Capital High Court, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, has summoned former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello over alleged breach of trust.

The summon was issued by the court on October 10, in respect of the charge No: FCT/HC/CR/778/2024, filed by the Federal Government on October 3, 2024.

Apart from Bello, other names that appeared in the court’s summon signed by Justice M.E Anenih of court 3, include: Umar Shuaibu Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.

The former Kogi State governor, Bello was summoned to appear before the court sitting at Maitama on November 14, 2024 at the hour of 9:00am to answer to the said complaint.

The document read: “Public Summons to Yahaya Adoza Bello

“To Yahaya Adoza Belloof 9, Benghazi Street, Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.

“Complaint has been made this day on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that you (YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO) sometimes within the year 2016 up until 2023 within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did commit offences to wit: Criminal Breach of Trust contrary to Section 311 of Penal Code Law Cap. 89 Laws of Northern Nigeria 1963, Punishable under SECTION 312 of same Law; and Having possession or control of property reasonably suspected to have been unlawfully obtained contrary to and punishable under Section 319A of the Penal Code Law, Cap. 89 Laws of Northern Nigeria 1963.

You are hereby summoned to appear before the Federal Capital Territory High Court of Justice (High Court No. 3) sitting at Maitama on the 14th day of November 2024 at the hour of 9:00a.m to answer to the said complaint”.
