Couple who lost all children in school building collapse dies

CITIZENS COMPASS–A couple who lost four children in the Jos, Plateau State, school building collapse has reportedly died on weekend.

The couple reportedly died one after the other after the shocking news about the death of their children was broken to them.

Recall that a two-storey building belonging to Saints Academy collapsed during academic activities on Friday.

Reports said the wife was the first to die followed by her husband. 

An X user, @MunTheShinobi, shared the information on his X Handle to alert members of the public.

The X user who identified himself as the President of The Nigerian Association of Psychology Students, University of Jos, said his friend was at the scene of the incident.

He posted this, “Lost 4 kids to the school building collapse in Jos. Mom heard the news, mom dies from shock. Dad heard the news, dad dies too. A whole Family wiped out in hours.

The X user who doubles as the Project Manager at Southern Kaduna had upon the receipt of the building collapse invited fellow psychologiss in the State to join in counseling the victims of the incident on weekend unknown to him that more of the victims would die. 

Other X users also confirmed the harrowing incident in the comments.

Some of the comments read, “On days like this, I feel so so human. 

‘On days like this, I question if I really can be one of the best psychologists in the world. 

“Cause hearing how broken the families are and how much this tragedy has taken from them is a lot to deal with. 

“Too much grief in the air, it’s so thick you can slice it with a knife.”

Earlier, the invite from the President reads, “If you are a psychologist or have experience in trauma counseling in Jos, please reach out to me via DM.

“We are urgently assembling a large team to be deployed tomorrow to provide psychological assistance and support to those affected by today’s tragic building collapse.
