Construction worker suffers limb injuries in Lagos building collapse
CITIZENS COMPASS–An adult male worker on Tuesday, suffered limb injuries when a building collapsed at Number 2, Little Road, Sabo, Yaba in Lagos State.
The bungalow building was under construction when it partially collapsed at about 9a.m.
However, no death was recorded.
Citizens Compass reports that sumpathisers rushed to the scene to rescue the injured worker and took him to a nearby private hospital before the arrival of emergency responders.
Confirming the incident, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the Agency received a distress call at about 0930hours.
“In response to distress calls received by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, via the 767/112 Emergcgency Toll-Free lines at 0930hours, the Agency activated the Cobra Team from Onipanu Base.
“Upon arrival at the aforementioned location by 0940hrs, a bungalow building undergoing manual demolition was found to have partially collapsed and injured one of the workers’ limbs in the process.
“Further investigations revealed that the building was undergoing scheduled demolition manually when a section of it fell and injured an adult male worker.
“No lives were lost. However, an adult male worker was injured on his limb and the injured victim has been taken to a nearby private hospital before the arrival of emergency responders to the scene.
“The demolition site has been cordoned off by the Agency’s officials, whilst the responders head back to base.
“Operation Concluded.”
