CITIZENS COMPASS – A suspected armed robber who operates along Sagamu-Ijebu Ode-Benin Highway, Ogun State axis, has confessed that a Police inspector as the one supplying him gun to rob innocent road users in the axis.
He named the Inspector as Ola during his confezsional statement in the State.
He did not give further details at press time.
Spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, Omotola Odutola, gave the revelation in his updates on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
According to her, the 33 years old suspect had been terrorising residents of Obalende until nemesis caught up wiyh him and was apprehend on the highway. She Obalende residents will now sleep well with their two eyes closed as one OWONIKOKO AKEEM “m” 33yrs has been apprehended along Sagamu Ijebu Ode Benin Highway around 0030hrs in a 24hr spoor operation led by ACP Omosanyi Adeniyi the Area Commander Ijebu Ode.
“Akeem was sighted in a Toyota Camry driving inward Ijebu Ode from Ososa, as soon as he sighted the Police while trying to negotiate the Ijebu Ode highway, he diverted into a close, the Police chased after him, but all the occupants scampered into the bus, the ACP divided the team into a cardinal search during which, a disguised man on VGN uniform who was the mastermind, of several nefarious crime, attempted to out smart the Policemen, but he was arrested.
“Searching the vehicle he earlier abandone, a black cellophane bag containing, 32 expended cartridges, 78 live cartridges and locally fabricated short gun.
She said a search warrant was also executed at his residence and the following exhobits were recovered; Magnum Pump action riffle, double barrel short gun, locally fabricated double barrel pistol, Stunt Pistol Chocker, unregistered silver colour and Toyota Camry.
Others were Green colour Toyota Sienna Bus KNN 58 TD OGUN, liquid chemical, black beret with insignia of Aiye Confraternity, cannabis, hard drugs and ATMs card,
Also recovered were Power bank, 2 Apple wrist watches, cell Phones and poisonous charm.
He has made a confessional statement which fingered an Inspector of Police he simply named Ola who Akeem said the Police procured the guns.
” The Commissioner of Police CP Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha psc has been briefed and his response was clear them all out, go after the remaining suspects.
