Commuters lament traffic robbery on Apapa/Oshodi Expressway
CITIZENS COMPASS– ROAD users on Apapa/Oshodi Expressway on Saturday, lamented worsening traffic gridlock situation and traffic robbery on Apapa/Oshodi Expressway.
The road users said this is usually noticed at Second Rainbow, Mile 2, Jakande and their environs.
They said the traffic gridlock is occasioned by the ongoing road construction on the ever busy Expressway.
Some road users who spoke with Citizens Compass said as a result of the road rehabilitation, traffic gridlock usually stretches from Jakande to Second Rainbow inward Mile 2 and from Mile Two to Second Rainbow inward Oshodi.
It was learnt that commuters do spend hours before navigating through the traffic to continue their journeys.
One of the road users, Idris Joseph said the traffic robbers usually take the advantage of the traffic gridlock to rob innocent people.
He said many people have fallen victim to the incessant gridlock while others have lost valuables. “Though I have not fallen victim to the traffic robbery on this road but I have witnessed some robbers dispossessing people of their valuables ”
Another road user, Nathaniel Ajetunmobi said the situation had become worrisome lately.
He called on government to wade into the situation.
