CITIZENS COMPASS —Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed the President General of Umuoji community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, Chief Silas Onyim.
They were said to have broken into his house to unleash the terror.
The community leader, who is popularly known as Chief Sly, was later discovered naked in the pool of his own blood, inside a bathtub in his bathroom.
Details of his murder have remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
Spokesman, Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga,
confirmed the incident.
He said the body of the slain community leader has been recovered and the Command was working with locals to identify the killers.
“Yes, I’m aware of the incident. The command immediately sent operatives there, and the body of the PG has been retrieved.
“We are working with locals to identify the perpetrators of the act, in order to bring them to book. Calm has also been restored in the area.”
