Chisco visits Obasanjo on planned investiture as Mayor Ndi Igbo

 

CITIZENS COMPASS – The Chairman of Chisco Group, a Transport giants in Nigeria, Chief Chidi Anyaegbu has visited former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, disclosed that the ultimate goal of any sons and daughters of Igbo extraction is to achieve peace in any part of the world for the overall success of their businesses and trade.

Chisco, as he is popularly known made this disclosure shortly after paying a visit to the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital on Monday, ahead of his investiture as the Mayor Ndi Igbo, on December 16, 2024 in Lagos State.

In a statement by President Obasanjo Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Monday, the transport merchant explained that having stayed over 50 years in Lagos, the Igbo people decided to honour him with the Mayor Ndi Igbo (Mouthpiece of Igbo people).

According to him, “I have stayed for about 54 years in Lagos and I believed that what join Igbo people and the Lagosian or any other tribe together is bigger than what divides. Therefore, we don’t have any benefit than to come together and live in peace. That is what can bring progress and development.

“And we will not leave any stone unturned to make sure that, that peace is attained not only in Lagos, but, any where we have brothers and sisters around the world. Peace is crucial for us all.

“So we have come to inform the former President and our Baba about the installation program and formally invite him, on Dec. 16, 2024,” Chisco hinted.

On the entourage of Anyaegbu was the President of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, who also doubles as the Mayor Ndi-Igbo contact and mobilisation ceremony and Secretary, Mayor Ndi-Igbo, Hon. Chinweizu Madubuike.
