CITIZENS COMPASS – The Omoluabi Progressives, a political group loyal to former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has announced its defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The announcement was made in response to the expulsion and suspension of several members of the group by the party leadership in Osun State.
The group expressed dissatisfaction with what it described as unfair treatment and lack of inclusiveness within the APC. The members accused the Osun State chapter of the APC of orchestrating a campaign to sideline its members. The expulsion and suspension of their members were deemed politically motivated, aimed at silencing dissent within the party.
The Omoluabi Progressives also criticised the party’s leadership for failing to address the grievances raised over the alleged marginalisation of the party loyalists.
At press time, the former Minister was yet to react to the announcement.
