CITIZENS COMPASS– THE lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Defence in the House of Representatives, Hon. Babajimi Benson, has flagged off his campaign for the 2023 elections under the umbrella of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The flagg-off was held on Saturday, December 7, 2023, at Ipakodo Ferry Terminal, at about 10am where APC chieftains in Lagos State were in attendance.
Fondly called “Julius Berger of Ikorodu”, Babajimi Benson is seeking re-election for the Federal House of Representatives position in Ikorodu Division.
Within eight years in office, he has facilitated construction and rehabilitation of many inner roads in Ikorodu Division including Kaz Avenue, Ayangbadejo, Ajeboriogbon, Nike Olubodun and Ajoke Oyebo in Sabo/Grammar School area of Ikorodu.
Others are Eyita, Banuso, Igbe Road, Alashe street and Igbogbo to mention but a few.
Similarlly, he facilitated the construction of Ikorodu stadium while that of Igbogbo is under construction aside the numerous empowerment programmes and capacity buildings in Ikorodu constituents.
Babajimi has trained many youths in entrepreneurship programmes and leadership skills.
APC chieftain and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Committee in Lagos, Senator Ganiu Olanrewaju Solomon, Secretary, APC, Lagos State, Hon Sumi Odesanya, Members Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Bashorun and Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe as well as the Apex leader of APC in Ikorodu, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye among others were in attendance at the flagg-off.
While addressing the teeming supporters, Senator Olanrewaju canvassed for massive votes for the party’s Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima,
,
Lagos Governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the party’s candidates in Ikorodu including Babajimi Benson.
In his address, Odesanya was optimistic that Babajimi will be sworn-in come June 2023. He said, “Constitutionally, he has changed the history of legislature by embarking on many constituency projects.
He described Babajimi as a person who has used his position to facilitate so many constituency projects to the division.
“He has achieved infrastructural renewal including women empowerment and I am confident that he will win the election.
“Theoretically, we are here to celebrate the trophy ahead of the elections.”
Pa Bashorun urged party faithful to do door-to-door campaign towards the elections.

Babajimi Benson assured his supporters that he will facilitate more constituency projects should he win the election.
He canvassed for their votes come February 25, 2023. “I am your son and will be happy if you vote for me. I promise to do more.” He said.
Fuji Maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularlly known as KWAM 1, entertained the party faithful with music.
