Anxiety in Lagos community over cult clash
A CLASH between two rival cultist group in Ijora-Badiya, Lagos on Tuesday, caused anxiety among residents of the area.

Eye witnesses’ account said it started it started at about 1pm although the cause could not be ascertained at press time.
Affected areas were New Council area, Obale, Gaskiya Road, Akorede, Adeboye, Jimoh Adeyemi, Agbomalu and other parts of Ijora and other parts of the community.
Our Correspondent said the Spokesperson of Lagos State Police Command Adekunle Ajisebutu said he was yet to be briefed about the incident but promised to investigate and revert.
A resident who pleaded anonymity said commercial and academic activities were distrupted as a result of the clash.
Eye witnesses’ account said the incident was bloody and many deaths may have been recorded in the process but Vanguard could not ascertain the number of victims involved in the attack though an unconfirmed report said about ten suspected cultists were shot dead at various spots.
A suspected member of Eiye confraternity simply identified as Seyi, narrowly escaped with gun wounds at Ijora under bridge, near the Lilipond Truck Terminal.
Policemen and sympathisers were said to have rushed him to a hospital in Apapa area.
At press time, the number of casualties or fatalities could not be ascertained.
