Aisha Bura emerges NAWOJ President
CITIZENS COMPASS —Aisha Ibrahim Kwaya-Bura has emerged the eleventh President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) having defeated the incumbent Ladi Bala, at the 11th Triennial National Delegates Conference, held in Abuja on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
Bura who lost against Ladi in 2020 at Minna, Niger State, had staged a comeback through a dint of hard work, laced with top notch strategy amid wide consultations.
As a leader with foresight and team-spirit, all other candidates that rode on the platform of “Team-Unite” group emerged winners.
Wasila Ladan, won the seat of the National Secretary, Aisha Cole emerged assistant National Secretary, Lillian Okonkwo won the position of National Deputy President while Adeola Adekunle emerged as Vice President, B Zone.
She is a senior staff of the Borno State Ministry of Information who won the election after two consecutive attempts.
She is a graduate of Mass Communications from the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID).
