CITIZENS COMPASS – Operatives of the Department of State services (DSS) have rearrested Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The operatives took custody of Emefiele after a physical fight with officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
Emefiele was earlier granted bail by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
It was reported that the DSS operatives had a face-off with prison officials over the custody of Emefiele, despite the bail.
The fight occurred in front of Nicholas Oweibo’s courtroom at the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Shortly after the fight, the prison officials left the premises of the federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Earlier, a mild drama ensued within the court premises as operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and Nigeria Correctional Centre (NCC) were seen fighting over the custody of Godwin Emefiele.
The High Court had granted Emefiele N20 million bail and one surety in like sum.
Emefiele is facing charges bordering on “illegal possession of firearms”.
Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge, ruled that the embattled CBN governor be remanded at the correctional centre, pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
In a ruling on Tuesday, Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge, said the charges against Emefiele are bailable.
The bail was granted with one surety.
Emefiele had pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge bordering on alleged illegal possession of firearms preferred against him.
However, the DSS operatives insisted on taking Emefiele into their custody.
Heated arguments and an all-out brawl between personnel of both services ensued on the court premises.
In a viral video, DSS operatives were seen pulling a correctional center official under a noisy environment.
