
Additional bodies recovered in Lagos building collapse
CITIZENS COMPASS– Three additional bodies were recovered, at the scene of a three-storey building which collapsed in the Ojodu area of Lagos State on yesterday.
This made the death toll rise to five on Sunday making three females and two males so far.
Recall that two bodies were recovered while 15 others were rescued from the rubbles of the three-storey building located at 10, Oremeta Street, which gave way at about 8a.m with many people trapped.
In his updates, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Coordinator, Lagos State Territorial District, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the death toll to newsmen.
He said so far, six females and nine males were rescued while five bodies were recovered.
He said the bodies were, “three females and two males.”
Citizens Compass reported that the collapse occurred at about 8a.m on Saturday with many persons trapped including the store keeper of the building housing a restaurant in the area.
