Power outage as National grid collapses
CITIZENS COMPASS– THE Eko Electricity Distribution Company, on Wednesday, confirmed that the
Nigeria’s electricity grid has collapsed.
The grid is operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) was said to have collapsed for the 6th time in 2022.
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company, in a statement, confirmed that the collapse occurred at about 11:27 am on Wednesday.
However, the statement did not state when the collapse will be fixed.
“Dear Customers, we regret to inform you of a system collapse on the National grid at precisely 11:27 am today, Wednesday, July 20. We are in talks with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to ascertain the cause of the collapse and a possible restoration timeline,” the Disco company said via its Twitter handle on Wednesday.
It was gathered that only the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) recorded 40Mw at that material time with other distribution companies, recording 0Mw.
