Abiru tasks Muslims on Godly virtues at Eid El Fitr
The Senator representing Lagos-East Senatorial District Tokunbo Abiru on Wednesday, tasked the Muslim Faithful to demonstrate Godly virtues and eschew vices they avoided during the 30 days Ramadan fasting.
The Senator equally felicitated with them on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Fitr, which marks the completion of the Ramadan fasting.
He enjoined them to be patriotic in tackling the various challenges facing the nation saying, “The unprecedented challenges facing our dear nation rrquires non partisan and patriotic efforts at rescuing the country from the cliff. This is the time to come together in unity to forge a national cohesion, tolerance and peace,” he said.
According to him, “believers who obeyed Allah’s commandment to fast in the Holy month of Ramadan not to relent in demonstrating Godly virtues and eschew vices they avoided during the fasting in obedience to divine command.
“I referenced in my goodwill message at the commencement of the fasting that, ‘Our challenges, though daunting but not insurmountable’ if we collectively renew our commitment to nation building,’
“I therefore implore us not to stop seeking God’s favour and guidance over the disturbing happenings in the country.
Happy Eid El Fitr celebration and may the Almighty Allah continue to bless our nation.” He added.
