Agege sets for progress, as ace grassroots gladiator, Taiwo Olasunkanmi, vies for chairmanship seat

CITIZENS COMPASS– Agege LGA, one of Lagos’ long standing local governments, is set for a new dawn in its political firmament and socioeconomic development. This is as the Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) electioneering process in Lagos is in full swing.

A grassroots political gladiator and a phenomenal business leader, school administrator, teacher, political mobilizer and philanthropist steps into the contest, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.

The man is Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel (fondly called TOS). Boasting an impressive track record in education, entrepreneurship, real estate, community development, and social good, Hon. TOS is primed to revitalize and reposition the Agege local government administration for greatness.

The visionary leader, successful entrepreneur, and dedicated school administrator is the Founder of SAMDOL Private School, ‘a low cost school that helps the less-privileged children that their parents could not afford high-end schools. The school does not discriminate on the basis of cost. It offers quality education even to children who attend the school based on scholarships.’

‘Many of those children have gone ahead to become high-flyers in different human endeavors and some are out of the country. I have precious memories from these children. I was excited when one of my pupils then became the senior prefect in Government College in Agege. One of them who went to UNILAG came out with First Class and did his Masters degree in University of Ibadan. Another one was calling my attention one day I was on the queue at GTB, she said can you recognize me and said I know you are my proprietor in SAMDOL Private School. These are memories which give me joy and make me proud to be a teacher.’

TOS, as a community mobilizer, is the Convener of Agege Renewed Hope Movement, a sociopolitical group of thought leaders and change agents who are set out to be the voice for the voiceless, the hope for the hopeless, and the help for the helpless within Agege in particular and beyond the land. Agege Renewed Hope Movement which is a sociopolitical group that comprises passionate and eminent personalities of Agege extraction in their respective spheres of influence is set out to ensure that Agege being a multicultural, economically viable, multi-religious, and politically conscious hub should continue to enjoy the development, unity, and peace which it is known for.

Taiwo’s burning passion for Agege is built on his practical experience having lives and witnessed firsthand the tremendous transformation which has happened to the predominantly agrarian community of the 1980s to today’s modern city. He believes more can be done when culture shapers like himself come into the Ijaiye road Headquarters office of the LGA.

Coming into politics with his massive background impact in education, real estate, community development, business, and philanthropy, Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel has a 5-Point Agenda.

– Economic empowerment targeted at stimulating MSMEs, creating jobs for youths, skills acquisition and facilitating economic growth.

-Quality education, which aims to increase access to qualitative primary and secondary education, improving educational outcomes and building new school infrastructure while resuscitating dilapidated ones.

-Community development, to enhance social services, infrastructure, and community facilities.

-Healthcare, which will improve the general state of primary healthcare facilities across the entire local council so as to boost the health accessibility and public confidence of Agege citizens.

-Transparency and accountability, this is the thrust upon which the Chairmanship aspirant intends to promote good governance, security, transparency, and accountability in local council projects and operations.

As July approaches, Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel is primed to win the Chairmanship ticket at the primaries of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and then, go on to defeat other party opponents at the upcoming general elections.
