
MAHMUDA, new terror group emerges
CITIZENS COMPASS– A strategic intelligence and advisory group, Eons Intelligence, on Friday, alarmed the emergence of a new terrorist group, MAHMUDA,in the North Central region of Nigeria.
The group disclosed this on its X Handle saying, “A newly identified terror group known as Mahmuda has reportedly emerged in the North Central region of Nigeria, actively terrorizing rural communities around the Kainji Lake National Park (KLNP), which spans parts of Kwara and Niger States.
“Reports confirm that the group carries out attacks at will across communities in Kaiama LGA (including Kemaanji, Tenebo, Baabete, Nuku, and Nanu) and in Yashikira District of Baruten LGA, both in Kwara State. They have also taken control of areas within Babana and Wawa Districts of Borgu LGA in Niger State.
“On Wednesday, the group reportedly attacked a vigilante group in Kemanji, resulting in the death of over 15 vigilantes and villagers. According to local accounts, the group, led by a figure issuing threats via voice notes, is involved in killings, kidnappings, and ransom demands.”
