Suspected armed robber dies of mob attack in Lagos 

…Victim hospitalised 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– Following injuries sustained in a mob attack, a suspected robber, Saidu Sinah popularly known as Ojubintin has reportedly lost his life around Isokoko in the Agege area of Lagos State.

This occurred over the weekend.

The suspect said to be a notorious armed robber in the area had stabbed a female victim and thereafter dispossessed her of her valuables at about 0630 hours.

Unfortunately for him, a mob descended on him as he was fleeing the scene.

Ojubintin was beaten to stupor as the mob attempted to lynch him but for the prompt arrival of Policemen from Isokoko Division who rescued him to the hospital.where he later gave up the ghost.

The female victim was also rescued to the hospital.

In his Situation Report, spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Monday. “On 15/03/2025 at about 0630 hours, a distress call was received at Isokoko Division that a suspected armed robber who specialized in snatching mobile phones from commuters was apprehended, beaten to stupor and about to be lynched by angry mob at ap/akerele junction, agege. Based on the report,teams of policemen were swiftly mobilized to the scene.

“The mob took to their heels on sighting the police, while the suspect later identified as Saidu Sinah ‘M’, a.k.a Ojubintin was rescued with severe injuries and rushed to the hospital for treatment, where he later died. preliminary enquiry revealed that the deceased with his cohorts, now at large, allegedly stabbed a middle aged woman and dispossessed her of her phone at the aforementioned area.

“The woman was immediately taken to the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment. The hospital where the injured victim was rescued to has been visited, the victim has been inspected and photographed.

“The corpse of the deceased has been evacuated to a public morgue by the Lagos State Health and Monitoring Unit. Meanwhile, effort is ongoing to arrest other wanted members of the group and those who participated in the jungle justice. investigation is in progress.”
