Women’s Day: Ayo Ogunsan celebrates Nigerian women   

…Says, 'You are a total package, bring on your Midas Touch'

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Board Member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan ,on the occasion of 2025 International Women’s Day celebrated the women in Nigeria and globally.

Dr. Ogunsan celebrates the resilience, brilliance, and indispensable contributions of Nigerian and African women. You are the backbone of our nation and continent, driving progress from our homes to our farms, to schools, boardrooms, and communities.

In his congratulatory message made available to Trek Africa Newspaper, Dr. Ogunsan who was recently appointed as the Patron of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Lagos said: ‘On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, brilliance, and immeasurable achievements of all women and the girl-child across Nigeria and the world at large.’

‘The theme for this year IWD, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” serves as a powerful reminder of the need to reaffirm our commitment to building a safe society where every woman and girl-child can thrive, access easy education, free from intimidation, discrimination and limitations. I believe it is time for women to make this happen across their spaces.’

Earlier published, at the recently held Trek Africa’s 25 Most Influential and Role Model Women In Africa (MIRWA Award) held at the prestigious Oriental hotel, Lekki Lagos, the popular nicknamed ‘The Civilian IGP’ and Chairman of the Executive Group, Dr. Ogunsan has tasked Nigerian women to bring on their Midas Touch and participate actively in governance in order to build a better and prosperous nation. He argues that women are total package and best suited for defining roles in politics and society building, because they are notably natural-born problem solvers.

The Chairman/CEO of the Executive Group, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan has encouraged Nigeria’s women population to take their deserved spot in key positions in the economy and governance locally and globally arguing that only the feminine gender is ‘a total package’. He made this keynote at the Trek Africa awards and national discourse which was held at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lekki Lagos.

The awards ceremony spotlighted 25 highflying women in various spheres of human endeavors featured in the prestigious Trek Africa 25 Most Influential and Role Model Women in Africa, MIRWA.

The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) who made the brief remarks at the unveiling of the Awards declared: ‘For me, a woman is a total package. Men are not a total package. We appreciate you. We celebrate you. We know your worth.’

His wife and CEO of the Executive Trainers Ltd, Dr. Mrs. Ajoke Olufunmilola Ogunsan is 1 of the big Trek Africa’s 25 Most Influential and Role Model Women In Africa and bagged the Trek Africa Female CEO of the Year 2024 Award.

He charged Nigerian women to play their giant role in societal development. ‘Take charge. We want you to take those seats that men are sitting and not doing well. Take those seats and bring your Midas touch.’

Dr. Ogunsan who was recently reappointed as Member of the Board of Trustees of Caleb University advised men, ‘I have four (4) great wonderful women in my life; My wife and my beautiful daughters. Your joy rests with them. Take care of them and give them opportunities. If you honor them, your promotion will be rapid, your journey will be smooth. Istand with women.’
