Students injured as school bus crashes during excursion 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– At least, three teachers and six pupils were seriously injured on Friday, in Ibadan, Oyo State when a bus conveying students for excursion tumbled and veered off the road.

Over 20 students were onboard when the bus carrying the students of Zenith Group of Schools, Akeyo, Muslim area, was heading for the Railway Station in the Omi area.

According to one of the pupils, the proprietor of the School was also onboard when the crash occurred.

The lone accident was attributed to brake failure.

Emergency responders, including the  Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), swiftly arrived at the scene to assist the victims. The injured were rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention, while the remaining students were taken to the Kuola Divisional Headquarters of the Nigerian Police for safety.
