Glo, Oyo government collaborate to enhance traffic management
CITIZENS COMPASS– The Oyo State Government has partnered with digital solution and telecoms company, Globacom, to develop innovative traffic solutions for the state. This partnership aims to transform traffic management in Oyo State, leveraging Globacom’s expertise in digital technology.
Speaking at the flag-off of the first phase of the telecommunications and digitalization partnership on traffic management with Globacom, Oyo Sate Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Ebenezer Ogunwuyi emphasized the significance of the partnership between Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) and Globacom,
“As our cities grow and our economy expands, we need innovative solutions to ensure road safety, efficient traffic flow, and seamless urban mobility” Chief Ogunwuyi explained.
In his speech, OYRTMA, Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd), recalled Globacom’s reputation for harnessing technology to solve complex challenges. He stated that, “Their contribution will be transformative, and we’re confident that together, we’ll achieve a more efficient and effective traffic management system”.
Globacom’s Enterprise Business Lead, South West Region Adeniyi Odejobi restated the company’s commitment to providing digital solutions. Odejobi said, “Our partnership will produce a smarter, more efficient OYRTMA workforce, enabling them to connect seamlessly and achieve a seamless traffic management system in the state”.
The event also featured an introduction of MoneyMaster PSB, a leading provider of innovative digital financial products and services to OYRTMA staff. Mr. Inusa Bello of MoneyMaster explained he bank’s mission to deepen financial inclusion, highlighting its recent launch of a 10% data bonus and 100MB seeding bonus for customers.
